SEMCO - Packaged Energy Recovery Systems

Dessicant System Heat Exchanger

The SEMCO packaged energy recovery system, offers the ultimate performance in air to air transfer of total energy (both latent and sensible). Pre-engineered and factory assembled, the SEMCO system also provides the air handling capability for the building's exhaust and supply air. The system can be selected to pre-condition outdoor air, going to other conventional air handling systems or as an integrated system that provides total space conditioning with the additional heating and cooling options available.

At the heart of this system is a technologically advanced exclusive desiccant wheel. The desiccant rejects air-bourne contaminants while it transfers water vapour, thus providing total energy transfer from the exhaust to the supply air stream. Selectivity allows it to be used in critical applications, including recovery from contaminated airstreams.

These units are ideal for schools, hospitals, high rise buildings, auditoriums, or any application where a large volume of ventilation air is required. Air conditioning savings of over 30% can be achieved by using SEMCO desiccant products.

Some clients who have employed the strategy above are:

  • E-Teck Flagship Bio-complex (Trinidad) - LEED Silver Certified Building
  • Junior Secondary Schools (Trinidad)
  • One Woodbrook Place (Trinidad)
