Energy Accounting for Small Hotels
Introduction
Energy auditing can be defined as an inspection, survey and analysis of energy flows in a building, process or system with the objective of understanding the energy dynamics of the system in question.
This spread sheet assists in the compilation and computation of data collected at the establishment under study giving a result which accounts for energy utilized and its proportions in relation to the actual amounts the establishment is charged for by utility companies. This information can be used to develop energy saving opportunities ,savings and the potenital for sustainable development within the establishment.
Instructions
- All required information is colour coded in GREEN; these cells are the only ones that can be altered.
- Once all required information is entered calculations will automatically occur.
- In the end the final tab labeled "Summary” will be automatically computed and display the different areas that energy is consumed and their related proportions.
- The "Variance" located on the "Summary" page indicates the difference between the number of kWh the establishment is charged for and the number of kWh that were accounted for in the actual energy audit.
- The Variance is acceptable within the range of 1-3% anything above this requires the figures to be rechecked and adjusted to suit.
